GEOMETRIX: The Language of Shape

Painted compositions embodying the relationship between structure, form, movement, tension, transparency and color, as seen through the aesthetic of the mid-20th-century. They are contemporary statements of Mid-century art and design living in the 21st century.

The paintings are simple, clean, but complex narratives about shape. Each shape is created by means of digital composition, next I draw the composition onto the canvas, then... the painting process begins. The shapes come together sharing an intimate space that becomes an entirely new and fresh statement about the language of shape. The transparencies with the feeling of movement, hierarchy, flotation and depth create a 3D feeling. In some of the pieces, a story line has emerged... ex. "Barcelona Chair".
